The New Haven Association of the Southern New England Conference of the United Church of Christ is one of the 14 current Associations that comprise the historic Connecticut Conference. It is part of the Southwest Region of the Southern New England Conference. Other Associations in our region are New Haven East Consociation, Fairfield East, Fairfield West, and Litchfield South, all geographically located in Connecticut. Some churches of the former Naugatuck Valley Association affiliated with New Haven Association in 2022, while others affiliated with the Litchfield South Association.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Association is to uplift our common witness to Jesus Christ, and serve God’s purposes in the world, wherever the Holy Spirit may direct; to serve its member Churches and Ministers; and to nurture the fellowship of its Churches and Ministers; and to be the Ecclesiastical Authorizing Agency for its Churches and Ministers.

Our Organization

The New Haven Association currently includes 26 member congregations located in New Haven County, Connecticut. It is supported by per capita dues contributed by the member congregations. It has no paid staff. The Rev. Margret Hofmeister is the Conference liaison, primarily serving as a resource to the Committee on Ministry and to member churches in leadership transition.
